First Impressions

Impressions can make or break interviews and relationships. You have just a few moments to make a good first impression and it's very difficult to ever change it. So have a solid base for making that first impression a good one.  Give each new meeting your best shot. Much of what is essential to make a good impression is common sense. Sometimes it’s not what you know but who you know so smile, be open and confident, know your audience, be a good listener, make eye contact as the other person talks, finally practice and be prepared. It takes just a brief glance, for someone to gage you when you meet for the first time. In that short time, the other person forms a judgment about you based on your appearance, your body language, your conduct, your gestures, and how you are dressed. Always try to arrive early it is much better than arriving late. Don’t rush give yourself time and account for traffic and other obstacles. Being on time is the first step in making a great first impression. If you are calm and confident, the other person will feel more at ease. Appropriate dressing helps make a good first impression physical appearance matters.
